My brain does awesome things while I'm not looking. The problem is keeping records…

I want a tail. Not a vestigial one so we're clear, but a proper swishy one, that can hold sharp objects, and disembowel you while you aren't looking. A fuzzy furry one would be nice, but I would accept a cybernetic one with good grace. It could have within its tip a series of interesting and useful gadgets, with numerous functions ranging from unscrewing hinges to doing arcane calculations that recalibrate the DNA of every living thing within a specified range. (I cannot guarantee I would resist the urge to give people beautiful fins and spikes to adorn their spines, or proud frills to decorate their necks, but let us not quibble with ethical details) It would be useful for climbing I'm sure, but I would hardly ever detract from its dignity by using it in such a common manner. Perhaps it could be formed from nano-tech, svelte to the eye, but a cornucopia of useful machinery lurking beneath the surface, waiting for instructions to travel down my spine, to where my wonderful tail is finely grafted to my nervous system. Because really, what is life without a tail?
